“Imagine knowing that every pound above £100,000 isn’t disappearing at 60% — because you’ve planned around it…
Imagine your pension contributions working as hard as possible, reducing your tax bill and building your future at the same time…
Imagine your personal service company structured so that salary, dividends, and corporation tax are all working together — not against you…
Imagine knowing your IR35 status is watertight, with a clear extraction strategy that leaves as little as possible with HMRC…
Imagine knowing exactly where you stand before 5 April, with time to actually do something about it…”
What would be different if you had all of this?
You’d stop overpaying tax. You’d have a clear plan rather than a last-minute scramble every January. And you’d feel confident that the financial side of your career is being managed by someone who actually understands what high earners face.
That’s where we come in.
Filing a self-assessment return is not the same as tax planning. Most high earners have their return filed accurately — but filed in a way that captures none of the reliefs, allowances, and timing decisions that could make a material difference to the bill.
Between £100,000 and £125,140, your effective marginal tax rate is 60%. That’s not a typo. For every £1 you earn in that band, you keep 40p. The people who understand this — and plan around it — are the ones who keep significantly more of what they earn.
The difference between a return that’s filed and a return that’s planned can easily be £5,000–£20,000 a year. That’s not tax avoidance — it’s knowing the rules and using them properly.
Between £100,000 and £125,140, your personal allowance is progressively withdrawn, creating an effective 60% marginal rate. Most high earners either don’t know this or don’t have a plan for it. We do. Pension contributions, charitable giving, and careful timing of income and bonuses — including dividends from your PSC — can all be used to reduce adjusted net income below the threshold, restoring your personal allowance and cutting your effective tax rate significantly.
If you operate through your own limited company, getting the structure right matters enormously. We advise on the optimal salary/dividend mix each year, corporation tax planning, and how to extract profits in the most tax-efficient way — taking into account your personal income position, pension allowances, and the interaction with your personal tax return. We also advise on VAT registration and the flat rate scheme for eligible contractors.
IR35 remains one of the most consequential and misunderstood areas of contractor tax. Getting it wrong — in either direction — is expensive. We review your contracts and working practices to give you a clear and defensible view of your IR35 status, advise on structuring engagements to support outside-IR35 positions where appropriate, and help you manage the compliance obligations if you are caught inside IR35. We’re not in the business of telling clients what they want to hear on IR35.
We don’t just file your return — we review your entire income position before we prepare it. Every source of income, every available relief, every allowance — whether you’re employed, a PSC director, or both. Your return is prepared by a qualified Chartered Accountant, submitted on time, and accompanied by a clear summary of what you’re paying and why. No surprises in January.
Pension planning is one of the most powerful tools available to high earners and PSC directors alike. Personal contributions can restore your personal allowance and reduce adjusted net income out of the 60% band. Employer contributions via your limited company can be even more efficient — they reduce corporation tax, bypass the dividend allowance, and don’t count as a personal contribution for annual allowance purposes in some scenarios. We model the numbers before you act.
The mix of salary and dividends from your PSC needs to be recalculated every year. Changes to the dividend allowance (now just £500), corporation tax rates, and your personal income position all affect the optimal split. We take your full picture into account — employment income, other sources, pension contributions, and the 60% trap — and give you a specific recommendation, not a generic one.
If you’ve moved to or from the UK, work across jurisdictions, or have foreign income or assets — including through a foreign company or overseas PSC arrangement — your tax position is more complex than a standard self-assessment return can handle. We advise on UK residency status, foreign income reporting, and double tax treaty claims, working with specialist international advisers for the most complex cases.

If you answered “no” to any of these, you’re almost certainly paying more tax than you need to.
